Kapla

Kapla Welcome

From the beautiful to the ingenious...from the Parthenon to a toy train...LHS visitors of all ages are creating structures of every shape and size with Kapla blocks.

Kapla, from the words for "pixie planks" in Dutch, are simple, versatile building blocks measuring 4 5/8" x 1 5/16" x 5/16". Precisely milled from pine, these identical pieces can be used to build very large, high, and stable structures or models of bridges, buildings, animals, figures, furniture, vehicles—pretty much anything the imagination can produce. Build them, admire them, knock them down and build something new!

Available for purchase at the Discovery Corner and in our online store.
