Atomic Membership Levels
One adult named on a membership plan must be present for entrance to The Lawrence.
Helium Level
$80 per year
- An individual adult membership
- Admission for 2 persons per day (including the adult member)
Carbon Level
$160 per year
- Two adult members, which can be family members or friends
- Admission for 6 persons per day (including at least one adult member)
- BONUS: 50% off admission at over 200 children’s museums through the Association of Children’s Museums Reciprocal Network.
Oxygen Level
$240 per year
- Four adult members, best for nannies, grandparents, or two families
- Admission for 8 persons per day (including at least one adult member)
- BONUS: 50% off admission at over 200 children’s museums through the Association of Children’s Museums Reciprocal Network.
Premier Membership Levels
Berkelium and Lawrencium levels provide access for eight people daily, and the convenience of free planetarium shows and 3D film screenings. Premier Memberships also directly support our work creating exhibits, programs, and learning experiences and help us provide need-based financial assistance to youth participating in camps and programs.
Berkelium Level
$500 per year
- All Oxygen level benefits
- BONUS: Free admission to the Planetarium and 3D Films, though tickets must be reserved.
Lawrencium Level
$1000 per year
- All the Berkelium level benefits
- BONUS: Recognition and benefits of the UC Berkeley Charter Hill Society including invitations to exclusive campus events throughout the year
Fine Print:
Memberships are valid for one year from date of purchase and are nonrefundable and nontransferable. Member discounts on family programs are not retroactive, discounts apply for people whose membership is current at the time of the program purchase. Prices and benefits are subject to change at any time. Reciprocal admission benefits vary by institution and are also subject to change. Please check with the institution you wish to visit for current reciprocal benefits for your level of The Lawrence membership.

Frequently Asked Questions
When I buy a membership, when can I begin to use it?
Your membership is valid from the time of purchase and may be used immediately.
How do I know when my membership expires?
A membership to the Lawrence Hall of Science is valid for one full year. As your expiration date nears, you will receive renewal notices from The Lawrence via mail and email.
Can my child have her or his own Member card?
No. Member cards are only issued to adults, age 18 or older, with valid ID.
Can I let my relatives or neighbors use my membership?
No. Memberships are nontransferable and can be used only by the individuals listed on the Member cards.
Do I need to show ID for admission?
To protect your membership, we do request proof of ID when you visit The Lawrence. Please make sure to have some form of ID on you when you come.
