Forces That Shape the Bay

Programs for Schools

Audio Tour
Schools and other groups may reserve a Forces That Shape the Bay audio tour Group Listening System for $25 for up to 2 hours. The Group Listening System allows group members to listen through headsets to the audio tour or to a group leader speaking into a microphone connected to a transmitter. 36 individual headsets and 1 microphone/transmitter are included in a system. In English and Spanish.

Group visits can be booked in as little as 24 hours in advance and can be paid for when you arrive. Chaperones are admitted free. We require one chaperone for every 7 students.

These programs are offered either at LHS or at your school. There is an additional fee.

Quakes & Shakes Assembly (Grades K-8)
Retrofit and quake-test a model house in this large group program.

Adventures of Hermie, the Hermit Crab (Grades K–2)
Enjoy a fun-filled search for Hermie’s missing shell, and find out how all animals need a home in this Science Discovery Theatre presentation.

Whose Fault Is It? (Grades 4–5)
Whose Fault Is It? (Grades 6–8)
Explore the causes of earthquakes and how they’re measured in this workshop.

Stories in Stone (Grades 6–8)
Begin an exciting study of rocks with hands-on activities about volcanology and plate tectonics in this Multi-Session series of classes.
