Are you looking for ideas to share with parents that will help their children succeed in mathematics?

Would you like to offer an after-school program with mathematics activities for PreK-middle school age students?

Do you want to strengthen the connection between home and school?

If you answered "Yes" to any of these questions, this workshop is for you!

The phenomenally successful FAMILY MATH program is based on the following principles:

  • Families can have fun learning mathematics together.
  • Parents must be advocates for their children's education.
  • Everyone can lead FAMILY MATH classes that emphasize the importance of mathematics in their children's futures.

This EQUALS workshop prepares parents, teachers, and anyone from the community to conduct FAMILY MATH classes. We will introduce activities from our series of parent involvement books. Mathematics topics will include algebra, number, geometry, measurement, probability, statistics, logical thinking, and much more.

You will leave this workshop ready to assume your role as a FAMILY MATH class leader and with two books of your choice. You may choose from any of the following titles: FAMILY MATH for Young Children, Classic FAMILY MATH, Matemática para la familia, FAMILY MATH II: Achieving Success in Mathematics, FAMILY MATH: The Middle School Years, or The Journey—Through Middle School Math.

Who should attend?
PreK-8 classroom teachers; ESL/Bilingual teachers; Math coaches/Mentor teachers; Title I, Title II, Title III, and Title VII teachers; Administrators; Paraprofessionals; After-school program leaders; Parents; and Staff from community-based organizations

Come one, come all! We’d love to have you join us.
